HOST A CLINIC

Starting Out and Foundation Training

Why Host a Simon Fielder Horsemanship Clinic?

Offering a Simon Fielder Horsemanship clinic at your club provides members with a unique opportunity to:

  • Enhance their horsemanship skills with proven, trust-based methods.

  • Address specific training challenges, from groundwork to ridden work.

  • Improve their ability to read and respond to their horses effectively.

  • Learn through both hands-on participation and observation of others.

These clinics are designed to benefit all types of horses and riders, from those starting young horses to those refining performance or addressing behavioural challenges.

What to Expect at a Clinic

  • Hands-on instruction: participants receive individualised coaching tailored to their needs and experience level.

  • Groundwork and ridden work: clinics focus on developing a strong foundation through groundwork before transitioning to ridden exercises.

  • Small group format: to ensure quality learning, clinics are limited to a maximum of six participants.

  • Observation opportunities: participants will have valuable opportunities to observe other riders and their horses in action, gaining insight into different techniques, approaches, and problem-solving strategies. Fence-sitters are highly encouraged to attend, as watching multiple sessions provides a deeper understanding of the training process and valuable takeaways for their own horsemanship.

Clinics can be tailored to your club’s needs, ranging from one-day intensive sessions to multi-day programs.

Logistics & Requirements

To host a clinic, the club will need to provide:

  • A suitable riding area (arena, round pen, or open space).

  • Adequate stabling or yards for participants' horses.

  • A minimum of six riders (fence-sitters are unlimited).

  • A club representative to assist with organising bookings and logistics.

  • All clinic instruction and individual coaching.

  • Promotional materials to help the club advertise the event.

  • Scheduling and structuring of sessions for maximum benefit.
